Day 66: In which I post hundreds of pictures of deer

A little fountain outside Namba station

The street outside the station. Huzzah!

Trees! Actual trees!

Lots of them!

No, wait, that's a rock

The first deer sighting

These guys are kind of tame. Probably because the people keep feeding them.

"Pidgeon, you best not be stealin' my crackers..."

For the record, I'm hardly using any zoom on these pictures.

Deer are shameless kleptomaniacs. Watch your handbags.

Do not panic if the deer attempt to high-jump over you. It's tradition.

Deer are terrible at cornering. Also, hurr hurr, you said butt.

Spaghetti people will be attacked on sight.

There were more deer no matter where I went.

She has food! DESTROY HER

The bag has food! DESTROY IT.

There's a little one in the middle of the mob there.

Ah, there it is.

Oh gosh the deerpocolypse

Two little guys, searching for some snacks.

And getting some from two other little guys.

They've tasted blood. He's a goner.

After swimming through a sea of deer, I finally made it to the temple.

This is just the front gate; it's kind of a big place

So big, it needs two front gates.

And this is the temple

It's the largest wooden structure in existence.

And pretty too.

I AM TEMPLE. I SHALL NOM THESE TOURISTS

OM NOM NOM

Pictures really can't capture the scale of this thing

This is the main statue it houses.

For scale, this is one of the leaves the statue sits on

This is the temple as it once was. Those towers are BIGGER than the temple.

The complementary fire bucket.

The original temple.

And this is the temple now.

Note the difference in width. This is a smaller version of the temple.

Well, since you asked nicely....

The grounds are pretty nice too.

EAT ALLLLL THE TOURISTS

Couldn't have asked for better weather.

I can only buy one shop? Nuts.

D'awwww.

The little guy's a mite spooked by all the attention.

I only wish I could get the audio for this. He was crying for his mama.

I don't even know what to do with this.
